PROCEDURE
After an initial examination and discussion one treatment usually takes 45 minutes.
- First of all the history of the horse is taken down. Questions regarding the horse’s health, medical problems (past and present), training, tack and general problems will be asked. Sometimes tack will be checked on the horse.
- A Body Scan – a manual examination of the horse is performed by the therapist. Acupuncture points, trigger points, muscles and joints of the entire body are checked in order to identify problem zones and areas lacking flexibility. If needed a gait analysis will be performed to detect and point out further problems and deficits.
- The following treatment will be decided individually for every horse.
- At the end of the treatment a following treatment- and training plan will be discussed for the particular horse.
